Blizzard’s Biggest Blunder?
November 27, 2018
Blizzard, the creator of games like Diablo, Overwatch, World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, StarCraft etc., has just announced their new Diablo game, Diablo Immortal. This may seem very great for Diablo fans… but with one flaw: It’s only available on mobile devices. There is a great deal of problems with this. Firstly, the quality of the game. The quality of the game decreases due to the phone’s hardware, and the amount of space it has. On a normal console or PC, you can get as high as 4K visuals at 60 FPS (Frames Per Second). With a mobile phone, it can be a huge problem, trying to get good graphics and good game play at the same time. Phones aren’t built to create an amazing environment for gaming, especially for a dungeon-runner type of game where you are guaranteed to run into a giant group of enemies. Also, the controls. If I have to destroy my fingers to move my character by constantly dragging on the screen, then I’m not interested in the game already. You can’t get that same feeling on mobile devices as you would on a console or PC. In the end, I don’t agree with Blizzard’s decision to turn a once PC/Console game into a mobile game. This is like turning a video game into a movie, it never works. However, that is just my opinion, maybe the game will be great.
