The gaming world as we know it is growing at a rapid rate, with Games like Minecraft, Roblox, VALORANT, Apex Legends, Five Nights at Freddy’s. Some games aren’t really getting the respect they deserve. So let’s go through some. I’m Brody T, and these are 5 masterpiece games that you’ve probably never heard of. (Disclaimer: these are in no particular order. )
- There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension
As far as puzzle games are concerned, there is no game like There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension. You play as a User who is trying to get into a game with a narrator who is aggravated by your every move by the name of Game. Ironic, I know. But, this game is truly a great comedy/puzzle game. It costs $12.99 on Steam and also got a rare 10/10 rating on steam, and a 87 on Metacritic.
- Superliminal
Another puzzle game. Wow. But in all seriousness, this game is mind bending. This free-if-you-have-Game-Pass-but-otherwise-$20 Game is a puzzle game where absolutely nothing makes sense. Perception is reality, so if you see an illusion of a cube, you can pick up that cube. If something appears huge, it IS Huge. Your goal is to escape. Get It? Didn’t think so. The game got a 9/10 on steam and a 74 on metacritic.
- Two Point Hospital
If you’ve been paying attention, you’ve probably heard about this game’s college cousin :Two Point Campus. Imagine that, but you’re building a hospital. That might sound boring, But let me tell you .This. Game. Rocks. Two Point Hospital is a simulation tycoon game where you build a hospital. But, the illnesses are pretty dad joke-ish. Lightheadedness: Your head is a light bulb. Pandemic: you have a pan on your head. You get the idea. There are a lot more like Jest Infection, Mock Star, and Turtle Head. The game got a 9/10 on Steam, and a 83 on metacritic.
- Celeste
Of all the free-if-you-have-Game-Pass-but-otherwise-$20 platformers, Celeste is one of the best modern 8-bit platformers that has ever existed. Your goal is to get to the top of a mountain while avoiding traps. There is really not much else to say, except for the inabilIty to play with keyboard and mouse. Celeste got a rare 10/10 on steam, a Must-Play and a 92 on Metacritic.
- Garten of Banban
Mascot horror has been a defining sub-genre of the indie gaming scene. Games like Bendy and the Ink Machine, Baldi’s Basics in Education and Learning, Hello Neighbor, Roblox Rainbow Friends, Choo-Choo Charles, Amanda The Adventurer, Poppy Playtime, FNAF; all competing for your attention, and your Gamer Dollars. But one franchise with lore so complicated, gameplay so simple, and 4 games released and 2 more announced in 8 months, has taken the world by storm for a while now. With almost every YouTube making their video of it, this game has grown like no other game (ex: DanTDM, Jacksepticeye, Markiplier, PrestonPlayz, Heck, Even Music YouTuber CG5). That series is: Garten of Banban. With an Underrated average 7.5/10 on steam, and completely unrated on Metacritic, this game could be considered as a game lost in the infinite abyss that is steam. gamers were mad about the graphics and basic design. But these games are insane, and dumb fun. In these games you play as a parent looking through an abandoned kindergarten searching for your missing child, while the kindergarten’s mascots try to catch you. While the story is very simple, the lore is very complicated. These games are absolute masterpieces. You could buy 1, 2, 3, and 4 for only $20.
That’s all I could think of. I will also be reviewing music in the future, so do you have a suggestion for a Top 10 or Top 5 list, an album you want me to review, or Another masterpiece game that almost nobody knows? Fill out this form and, if you get picked, I will shout you out in the next one!
